2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance Features

With the world's most powerful four-cylinder engine producing up to 230 kW/313 hp, the 2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI has an excellent power-to-weight ratio of 5.4 kg/hp or less than a second for every 100 meters. It also has a newly tuned suspension, progressive steering and an electro-mechanical differential lock.

The 2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI will be offered in two variants: A six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission with paddle-shift functionality. The R124 vehicle architecture also plays a major role in the exceptional performance of the 2023 Volkswagen Golf GTI. It uses lightweight materials such as aluminum and high-strength steel to reduce weight by approximately 150 kg (330 lb) compared with the previous model year's largest Golf, making this latest Golf more agile than ever.

The more powerful engine is an integrated rear-axle drive for even greater efficiency. It is also equipped with the second-generation EA888 engine and direct injection. The new turbocharged engine produces 230 kW (313 hp) at 3750 rpm and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque from 1,750 to 6,250 rpm.
