My husband tried to put in a new battery to my 2018 Beetle. It ended up frying the alternator because VW had changed the position of the universal red and black wires. All other cars have red and black battery cables on the same sides of the battery, but for whatever reason VW switched them.
The dealer said this has happened a number of times for their customers. Did they change it to make more money from unsuspecting customers? Why else would they do it? It cost $3000 to fix my car.

Good (I really liked my service consultant), but was frustrated when trying to contact the service department, to follow-up with questions. The call center experience was poor, because I was transferred to an unknown desk and never got a hold of any person at Kings.
